Wilkins' Reunion '08

We just got back from our Wilkins' Family Reunion in the mountains of Colorado. Amy did an excellent job of putting together a fun weekend for all. . .especially the cousin have fun at these reunions, don't they. We came home tired and happy. It was wonderful.

Red rover was Annelise's activity that she had been planning for weeks before the reunion. Tyler and Hailee did a great job at making it fun for the smaller kids and not crushing them.

While the kids were inside, the adults sat and talked on the porch outside. The kids think we are so boring.

Katie wanted to take a picture of Grandma Allred. She loved Grandma's house, her pretty flowers, her jewelery, sitting by her in church. Friendship made.
This is in front of Grandma and Grandpa Allred's home. It was really wonderful to be with them. (Can you see Katie with her pearl clip on earrings Grandma Allred gave her? She wore them the whole way home.)

We turned around and there is the temple across the street. Thanks for taking some pics for us A.J.

Brad stopped to see PacketFront corporate headquarters in the US. Hello and goodbye PacketFront.

The kids were better on the way home than the way up for our 9 hour drive. They were tired.

Looks like fun! Did you stay at a family-owned place (your own family) or rent somewhere? I'm looking for more options for my family's reunions (16 adults, 28 grandkids).

I know what you mean, Jen. I'm in charge of the reunion for next year. We stayed at the YMCA in the rockies this year. It was an attempt to save us cooking and clean-up time because they had meal plans for the cafeteria along with the rooms we rented. I think we decided we like cooking together and having a big place to ourselves with large gathering areas instead of being in separate hotel-like rooms. There is a website (can't remember the name now) that has houses for rent in all sorts of places. I'll get back to you on that one.
